The aim of the conference was to highlight the state of the art in laser probing such as optical spectroscopy of atoms, molecules, clusters and nuclear nuclei, analysis and characterization of solids, fluids and particles, chemical reactions and ultrafast phenomena, development of new techniques based on lasers. It also aimed to strengthen the common base and synergies among the various players in the field.

This is the world's largest recurring conference on the research and study of the Higgs boson(s). In 2012, a boson very close to the 'standard' Higgs boson was discovered by ATLAS and CMS, and has been studied ever since.

The EGAN 2012 conference aims to discuss the achievements, problems and future directions associated with auxiliary detectors used in conjunction with gamma-ray detectors. The main topics of this workshop are: gamma-ray spectroscopy, auxiliaries for moment and lifetime measurements, for nucleus identification, for photon detection, among others, as well as problems related to beams, targets, electronics and data acquisition.

This conference is designed to bring together doctoral and post-doctoral students working in high energy theoretical physics, particularly in the fields of string theory, cosmology and gravity.

QNP2012 is the 6^th international conference dedicated to Quark physics and nuclear physics. It will celebrate 40 years of development of Quantum Chromodynamics through the following topics: quarks and gluons as constituents of nucleons and nuclei, hadron spectroscopy, non-disruptive methods in QCD, efficient field theories, nuclear matter under extreme conditions, and the nuclear environment.
