The Accelerator physics pole is involved in several areas of fundamental physics such as particle physics, cosmology, astrophysics as well as particle detector physics and their medical applications. Through the collaboration of physicists and engineer teams (electronics, mechanics, software), its size and its technical capacities, this pole benefits of an international recognition, contributing essentially to research activities and developments, as well as the construction of large-scale devices within the national strategy for accelerators.

Some participation of big project construction, data taking and analysis can be stressed:

  • gravitational waves discovery by Ligo-Virgo
  • Higgs boson discovery
  • characterization by Atlas/LHC
  • CMB cosmology by Planck HFI
